WX series turbo-generotor are designed on the principle of modular and following the frame codes, being divided into five basic series (14,16,18,21,23). In order to meet the requirement of different capacities,many effective core lengths are adopted for each basic series. The modular construction of generators make them highly normalized and standardized ,which enhance the interchangeability of their parts accordingly and are helpful to the customers' design in power plant.
The stator core of WX series generator is installed in the housing lower half and connected by a core suspension system.This suspension system prevents the vibration of stator core from being transmitted to the housing effectively,which reduce the vibration of the whole unit and the operation noise significantly.
Featuring in simple construction, and few anxiliary equipments, our WX series generators are convenient to be transported and installed.Besides, the generrators are designed as far as possible to be a complete unit,which reduces the time for installation considerably.
The housing,which is designed into a self-supporting construction formed by welding steel plates, is split horizontally into top and bottom halves and divided into many air chambers axially. The bearings and exciter are installed onto the foundation directly to facilitate the maintenance and inspction of the unit.
There are two excitation modes for WX series generators:
a. Brushless excitation:
Using this mode, the generator is excited by an AC exciter and a rectifier which rotate together with the generator rotor. As there are no brushes in this excitation mode, no maintenance is needed to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the unit.
b. Static excitation:
Adopting this made,slip rings and brush gear are matched and the the brushes may be repalced as required. Besides this excitation mode also has the following advantages:
1. high reliability due to cancellation of rotating parts;
2.high stability owing to the shortened length of shaft system;
3.high initial response,high forced excitation times,short de-excitation time,etc...
